NEIGHBOURLY VISIT

Just had a visit from Celine, our neighbour to the west. She walks a lot, a cancer survivor, going strong. Even goes down the steep hill to the lake with her grandkids. She and Ivo, her husband have lived a hard life as agricultural labourers, and she worked in a factory later in life. Ivo is over 80 and is hard as a rock. Keeps a huge garden, which supplies half the neighbourhood with fresh vegetables, also keeps chickens and rabbits. Celine talks to all the people around here so we get the local news from her. Like who just got fined for crossing the road with a loaded gun while out deer hunting, or who is having a rough time making ends meet. Since we tend to keep to ourselves, this is mostly news to us.
